Tuberfest (Summer truffle festival)

Every August, the historic center of Cascia comes alive with Tuberfest, a summer evening dedicated to the prized summer truffle (Tuber aestivum) and the finest local food and wine . From early evening, the town's streets and piazzas become a lively tasting itinerary where visitors can sample Umbrian wines and traditional truffle-based specialties prepared by local restaurants and producers . The event is more than just a food festival—it's a celebration of local culture and community, with street entertainment, music, and a festive atmosphere that culminates in a late-night DJ set in Piazzale San Francesco, turning the medieval town into a vibrant summer destination .

Scheggino Neraviglioso

Scheggino

Every year between August and September, the medieval village of Scheggino, nestled in the heart of the Valnerina, hosts Scheggino Neraviglioso — a summer festival that brings together art, theatre, music, and culture in one of Umbria's most enchanting settings. The event features a rich program of street performances, concerts ranging from classical and opera to pop tributes, theatre productions, art exhibitions, and cultural activities for all ages, all set against the backdrop of the village's historic piazzas and streets. A key highlight is the historical reenactment of Scheggino Donna, commemorating the legendary 1522 defense of the castle by the village women, which takes place alongside traditional markets like La Quarta di Scheggino, showcasing local handicrafts and typical products.
